About Me

My name is Alex. I’m a guy in my late 20s who lives in England. I have a husband and two cats who I love very much.

My hobbies include reading, cooking, arts and crafts, getting outdoors, videogames (currently very into Project Zomboid) and fantasy-based TTRPGS. I’m currently in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and Dungeons & Dragons games, but I also enjoy Pathfinder, Shadowrun, Forgotten Futures, and a bunch of solo journaling games. There are a whole lot more I would like to try!

I currently work as a community researcher and enjoy my job a lot. Although it requires me to push myself, I feel like I’m contributing something to the world and (hopefully) making a change for the communities I work with.

I’ve been vegan for a long time and was vegetarian for a long time before that. It’s not like this is a site about veganism, but it does influence my general worldview. I think the Vegan Society gives a good simple overview of the reasons we should work towards a vegan life.

My husband and I are working towards having a child, and I’m incredibly concerned about the possibility of becoming a Phone Parent. I have been trying to reduce my dependence on my smartphone and spend my time online more intentionally. It’s been really interesting to see what I actually miss since I’ve been changing my habits (spoiler: not much at all).

I was drawn to Neocities because I miss how customisable the web used to be. It has been fun to start refreshing my (admittedly quite basic) knowledge of coding after several years. Hopefully I can stick with it and end up with a full website!
